Hi,

Problem: Sometimes when I restart/reboot the system, it starts booting Linux
but suddenly powers off like somebody had shut it down.

Thank you Herbert.

I can not move to 64 bit OS, because we need to install planetlab(32 bit)
software in virtual machine, Which needs virtual enable kernel of 32 bit.

Today afternoon some weird thing happened to my server. Suddenly it went to
shut down at 13.55 (at bold item below).

Can any one tell me the reason, Why my server went to shutdown/ power off
automatically ?

I restarted the server by pressing power button. I faced the same problem
as i mention previously that is the system tried boot, after 2-3 minutes it
went back to shutdown without displaying login page. I again pressed the
power button to restart. Again system tried to boot OS, after 2-3 it went to
shutdown. It happened like 4 times, 5th time it came up with login page, now
it seems working fine. i was wondering why it came up at 5th time. All this
happened between 16.13--16.22. I did the same thing every time (just
pressing power button)

I am suspecting something is happening in the system. Same thing happened 3
days back. But i did not realize.

Below i copied some part (from when it went to shut down to come back to
normal state ) of* /var/log/messages* file. If you need *dmesg* file, i am
attaching that too (some lines at the end of this file seems odd. which i
already marked as bold letters ( or search with word "dazed" ).

Can any tell me what going wrong with my server?

Sorry for lengthy mail.
