if this directory is not here it means the init script lack the creation
of it. In debian /var/run is persistent so there is no such problem but
if it is not then the vserver init script should recreate it at boot
time. If this is not done by the distro init script simply create a boot
script that does it just before the vserver init script starting (better
create than modify because it will not mess with upgrades latter on).

  Even if this is more of a distrib issue of the packager that have not
adapted the init script to the gentoo way that could be added in a next
version of the vserver tool that the exemple init script could just test
and recreate it automaticaly if it is gone.
