which distribution did you install and what is the guest
config (especially the init style you used)?

I'd say it is trying to do something which doesn't work
(no idea why from this little information we've got) and
because init is usually quite stubborn, it tries again
and again ...

it confirms what I suspected above, that init doesn't
want to give up on whatever it is trying to accomplish

you need to provide a lot more information to actually
help you, like for example the kernel/patch/util-vserver
version you are using and the guest setup/distro
