LiHAS adds 800EUR.
I don't really care for a 'stable' VServer patch as patches come out
fast to whatever kernel is current like it is atm. This is one reason
why we use VServer. We often need way more recent kernels than provided
by the distributions (mostly debian here), mainly for performance and
sometimes for driver issues. This is especially true as we run KVM on
some hosts at the same time and there the benefits of higher kernel
versions are more obvious.
The highest release we have in use atm is 2.6.38.
So if asked for a kernel version I opt for the most recent longer term
kernel available and hope for mostly current VServer patches for the
most recent linux kernel at all. 3.0 will probably not be anything long
term stable, so in the current versions it would be 2.6.38 or 2.6.32 for
stabilization.
