i am moving vservers around to different hosts to free a few hosts up. all are the same
class hardware, either single or dual core opterons. everything is 64bit. all vservers are
running baselayout-2 and openrc except this one. the customer demanded baselayout-1 since
it is a customer-managed vserver.

my problem is this was running find on the previous host. after moving it, it kills itself
every time.. i manage to enter the vserver and do a ps ax before it dies.. this is what i
see:

henderson / # ps ax
  PID TTY STAT TIME COMMAND
    1 ? Ss 0:00 init boot
17684 ? Ss 0:00 init boot
17685 ? S 0:00 /bin/bash /sbin/rc sysinit
17734 ? S+ 0:00 login
17766 pts/1 Ss 0:00 /bin/bash -login
18196 ? S 0:00 /sbin/reboot -f
18233 pts/1 R+ 0:00 ps ax
henderson / # Killed
valkyrie vservers # vserver henderson stop
vserver 'henderson' is not running

any hints where to look?

both hosts are running the same kernel

2.6.26-vs2.3.0.35.6-gentoo

and the same utilities

util-vserver-0.30.215
