You need to add the /etc/hosts and /etc/resolv.conf yourself. You can
just copy and edit the ones from the host. By default, a guest isn't
allowed to do anything with the network connections, which is why you
are seeing the error messages. This is expected. It sounds like your
guest is fine. Just add /etc/hosts and /etc/resolve.conf.
