On a clean install an "emerge -pvt tomcat" shows:
[ebuild N ] www-servers/tomcat-5.5.20-r7 USE="-admin -doc
[ebuild N ] dev-java/mx4j-3.0.1-r2 USE="-doc -examples -
[ebuild N ] www-servers/axis-1.2_rc2 USE="-debug -doc"
[ebuild N ] dev-java/castor-0.9.9.1 USE="-doc -jikes -postgres
-source"
[ebuild N ] dev-java/ldapsdk-4.1.7-r1 USE="-doc"
[ebuild N ] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.18-r6 USE="-build
-symlink (-ultra1)"
if I provide the binary packages (compiled in the previous install) I get:
[binary N ] www-servers/tomcat-5.5.20-r7 USE="-admin -doc -examples
-java5 -source -test"
[binary N ] dev-java/mx4j-3.0.1-r2 USE="-doc -examples -
[binary N ] dev-java/mx4j-tools-3.0.1 USE="-doc -s
[binary N ] www-servers/axis-1.2_rc2 USE="-debug -doc"
[binary N ] dev-java/castor-0.9.9.1 USE="-doc -jikes -postgres
-source"
[binary N ] dev-java/ldapsdk-4.1.7-r1 USE="-doc"
No gentoo-sources needed... Strange indeed.
