I have already fixed it. The problem lay somewhere else, namely in processes
directories visibility in /proc, controlled by hidepid mount option on /proc.
It is not compatible with vservers a little, so eventually, I had to add root
to group with gid indicated in gid mount option on /proc. Alternatively,
there was possibility to set value of hidepid option to 0.
