the discussion and project was/is about stabilization,

not yet, but ultimately there will be, and following
our numbering scheme, it will be vs2.4

no, but that is the development/experimental release
designated for stabilization, and the upcoming vs2.3.x
releases will be part of that stabilization process
ultimately leading to vs2.4-rcX, which at some point
will we relabeld vs2.4
stabilization is going slowly, but steady and with
good results IMHO, we already rewrote/cleaned up the
CoW link breaking and parts of the debug system, and
I'm currently preparing an advanced kernel build and
test system (but more about that in a later mail :)
