hello,

i'm new to linux vserver. i've just managed to set up vserver on an
ubuntu lucid host, the guest is lucid, too. with the help of some
tutorials i found at linux-vserver.org, i was able to workaround
almost all problems. but there are still some strange things, i don't
really understand:

i usually enter the vserver using "vserver ... enter". after doing my
work i type "exit" to get back to the host. now sometimes (not
always!) the vserver seems to stop. running vserver-stat for example
doesn't show it anylonger, or when i try to re-enter, it says, that
the vserver is not running. i was unable to figure out, why it stops
because this won't happen, when some other user is still connected to
the vserver. and i don't get any error messages or so. is there
anything i can try to figure out, what's going on?

the second strange thing is: i've installed mysql in the vserver and
everything seems to work just fine. i can start and stop it and it's
listening on the IP i assigned to the vserver (and bound mysql to) --
at least i can telnet to it and mysql answers. however: i don't "see"
it, when i run "ps ax" in the vserver ... what's going on, i wonder?

thanks very much,

harald
