thanks for the info Adrian!
i managed to find a page dedicated to usb devices here:
http://linux-vserver.org/USB_Devices
however, i get an error in the host messages file... it does not appear to bother the
guest in finding the usb devices, but i am concerned if it is an error i need to pay
attention to or not..
the line returned on the host when using
cat /proc/mounts | grep usbfs
is this:
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs rw,nosuid,noexec,relatime 0 0
this above line is pasted in the guest fstab.
the guest has no startup errors showing on the screen or in its messages log and lsusb
shows the usb devices just fine, however in the host messages log file i find this entry:
Sep 30 03:55:53 enterprise kernel: usbfs: unrecognised mount option "relatime" or missing
value
Sep 30 03:55:53 enterprise kernel: usbfs: mount parameter error.
does anyone know if this is a critical problem or can /should i ignore it?
