Please check if you have an /etc/resolv.conf within your VServer, you
find it on Debian at /var/lib/vservers/web/etc/resolv.conf, on other
systems at /vservers/web/resolv.conf. Check the content as well.
If it is empty, check the hosts /etc/resolv.conf, if it is a link,
replace it with a real file for builing the VServer.
We had a similar problem last week and got around it with these steps.
On another system, same installation, same updates it worked without
problems, we had been unable to track down a difference.
