As this is in fact a same release, I would recommend simply to exclude
the yum package from beeing update by placing the followin line in the
relating /etc/yum.repos.d/... file and not to modify ther version
number, as this may have side unwanted effects (dep's broken, still
updates later, etc):

| exclude=yum

This is the same manner as with my (very old) FC5 documentation with
the kernel RPMs that time, look here:
