Funny - having seen some of the changes on 2.6.25 and how they overlap
some of the vserver goals I was thinking something very similar?
Someone else recently requested a separate patch for COW and I agree
that this would be useful for a couple of projects I was mulling over.
Perhaps some of the vserver patches are ready to start pushing upstream?

Absolutely. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to use vservers
straight out of the box on all new servers! In fact I really don't
understand why people aren't screaming for this in mainline? Even for
desktop use it seems great - simple to fart around with a test install
or a new update. About to start testing it with X... I just love the
ease you can copy the vserver image, boot it up and test something, then
pack it away again.
Is there a key person we could sponsor to work on this for a period to
get it tracking mainline again? Daniel? Herbert? How much would it
cost to sponsor your development time?
Kind regards
