I just copied over the command from your download site (and adjusted
name and network of course). The fstab is sane:
$cat fstab
/dev/hdv1 / ufs defaults 0 0
Might it be a kernel issue? The kernel is tweak a bit for other software
and upgrading it will take a lot of work :(
