Kernel 2.6.16.49 with vserver 2.0.3-rc2 on Debian Sarge 3.1r6, with java builded with
make-jkpg from Sun's java package:

# java -version
java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode, sharing)

It /seems/ to work: shows the welcome page and some maps.

Guest have the CAP_NET_BROADCAST and CAP_SYS_RESOURCE enabled. Perhaps you can try with
other kernel.
