is there a way around this in gentoo?

i cannot install rpm since the vserver util code installed beecrypt.

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] dev-libs/beecrypt (is blocking app-arch/rpm-4.2)
[ebuild N ] app-arch/rpm-4.2 +doc +nls +python 0 kB

im assuming util-vserver requires beecrypt. if no way around it, then we do
without rpm and i have to find another way of unpacking and installing rpm
based installs.
