well, no, cleaned up vserver images or new
isntalls with recent tools should only start
(and stop) enabled services ...

most likely (according to my crystal ball)
your scripts are linked in /etc/rc?.d and
the relevant ones should be in /etc/rc6.d
(but maybe distributed over the other dirs)

simply by removing the links from those dirs
(make sure to save a copy) which, if installed,
can be done with the chkconfig utility ...
