I personally use Gentoo for the vast majority of my work, so a redhat
specific patchset isn't that useful to me. I noticed FreeVPS when I was
looking around, but the fact that it's so distribution-specific caused
me to pass it by without much more than a second glance. (Like most
linux geeks, I'm essentially lazy).
That said, some additional memory and networking improvements would be
very cool. Hard and soft limits on memory and processor use for vservers
would be great. What I'd specifically like to see (and I don't know if
FreeVPS supports this) is the ability to virtualize networking, so that
you have translation from "real" ip addresses, to a "fake" ip addresses
for the vservers. This would be great for my environment, where having
the ability to make a prototype of a system on a live box is very
useful. Presumably, this would involve creating a virtual network
device, much like you do with UML.
Anyways, that's my 2 cents.
Cheers,
Liam
