Well, would be so kind and try to patch ctx8 into 2.4.9-21SGI_XFS_1.0.2 ?
Its the last redhat errata kernel with the XFS release 1.0.2 bits. You can
find it in
ftp://oss.sgi.com/projectx/xfs/download/Release-1.0.2/kernel_rpms/
i386/contributed-RH-updates/2.4.9-21-RH7.2/
kernel-source-2.4.9-21SGI_XFS_1.0.2.i386.rpm

PS: I found it to be the most stable release in production
